In America, the average black male is more likely to be unemployed than the average white male.
However, in a survey conducted by The National Association of Black Business Owners, it was found that 68% of black men are interested in starting their own business. This shows that there is a disconnect between interest and action; however, there are still many reasons why black men are not pursuing entrepreneurship.

Black America is in a Crisis!
Black men have been forced into a system that is designed to keep them down by any means necessary. This system has worked so well that many Black men have stopped trying to escape its clutches. But we can't let this continue any longer. We need to take action now, so that our children do not grow up in an even more difficult environment than the one we've inherited.
Black America has been on the defensive for as long as I can remember. It's hard to blame us, because we've been under attack for centuries. Our people are suffering, and no one seems to care.
We need to be honest with ourselves about what's happening here: first, we need to stop pretending like Black women aren't being marginalized by this same system; second, we need to acknowledge who is responsible for creating it; third, we need to understand how it works and how it impacts us as individuals; fourthly, we need to figure out what steps we can take in order for us all—both men and women—to live prosperous lives free from oppression or limitation of any kind!
It's time for us to stop reacting and start taking control of our own destiny.
We've seen the numbers: black businesses are growing at a faster rate than white businesses. In 2017 alone, more than half a million Black Men identified as entrepreneurs or self-employed. These numbers have surged since 2012 and continue to grow year after year.! This is important because if we don't start building wealth in our own communities, who will? And if we're not able to take care of ourselves, then how can we expect anyone else to?
You might not be aware of this because the media doesn't talk about it much—but there are plenty of statistics available that show just how much Black Male Entrepreneurs in America have progressed when it comes to economic status and access to opportunities. Black men are taking control of their lives and creating opportunities for themselves in ways that were previously unavailable to them.
